Raptor Lake HX Series
The 13th generation mobile HX series like its predecessors will use desktop Raptor Lake dies for a significant performance boost. As is the case with the desktop segment, we expect the TDPs to remain the same. Now let’s go over today’s leak. OneRaichu has supposedly leaked the entire 13th Gen HX lineup because even Alder Lake went no lower than the i5-XX450HX. These CPUs offer massive improvements over the last generation, courtesy of the higher core counts and faster frequencies.
— Raichu (@OneRaichu) November 14, 2022 The flagship i9-13900HX has a 24 (8P + 16E) core configuration in contrast to the 16 cores featured on the 12950HX. Similarly, we see a 400MHz increase in the max boost clocks. Moving over to the i7 family, the top-tier i7-13700HX is a 16 (8P + 8E) core CPU going to a max of 5.0GHz. This is still 200MHz faster than Alder Lake’s i7-12850HX. After that, we have the i7-13650HX and the i5-13500HX both featuring a 14-core design. The former has a slightly higher boost clock and the latter has 2 additional cores along with faster frequencies. Last, but not least is the i5-13450HX offering 2 more cores than the i5-12450HX. The clocks also have been raised to 4.6GHz, making laptops with this CPU a great buy if the TDP is somewhat moderate.
Release Date
Intel plans to unveil Raptor Lake mobile CPUs by the end of this year. The HX lineup is almost launched later than the base variants so a release date is possible sometime in H1 2023.
