Ada Lovelace Titan
Leaks and rumours started to pop up as early as July by Kopite. Being very initial leaks, they did have a few questionable figures. The ‘AD-450-A1‘ (Full-Fat AD102) fueled Titan should house 144SMs, although the leaked variant featured only 142.
— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) July 25, 2022 This resulted in a big discrepancy because the ‘leaked‘ RTX 4090 Ti features a similar SM count. So, we assumed that the Ada Lovelace Titan will ship with 18432 Shading Units (144SMs) if it ever hit the shelves.
The Initial Signs
However, MLID (Moore’s Law Is Dead) pointed out that we may not see such a behemoth citing power conerns. Allegedly, the RTX 4000 Titan was tripping breakers, melting PSUs and sometimes even melting. Do note that we do not have concrete proofs to back such claims. In addition, the GPU was a massive 4-slots thick and required 2×16 pin power connectors. MLID did receive some criticism because of these statements. Some pointed out that a GPU cannot possibly ‘melt’ power supplies and ‘trip’ breakers. MLID’s main point might have been authentic as highlighted by today’s leak, however, the stated argument was debatable.
Kopite’s Confirmation
Just recently, Kopite on Twitter shared a sort-of official confirmation that we probably won’t see a Titan from Ada Lovelace. Maybe NVIDIA is delaying their kingpin until AMD unveils the long-awaited RDNA3 lineup. Only time will tell. ~Usman Sheikh, Admin @PPG
— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) October 17, 2022 All in all, this does beg the question. Which SKU will be powered by the full-fat AD102 chip? We have 2 possibilities; Either way, the earliest we could expect some information from NVIDIA is during the CES 2023. Team green is expected to release the remaining RTX 4000 GPUs namely;
