The benchmark of the new CPU, having the OPN code “100-0000000593-20_Y” was discovered by renowned hardware leaker @TUM_APISAK. Such an OPN code has not been spotted before so currently it is not possible to make out the exact SKU or specs in this Engineering Sample. However, we’re seemingly looking at the Ryzen 5 7600X, given the specs of the chip. Being benchmarked on the Gigabyte X670E motherboard which only supports the next-gen AM5 socket makes it clear that this CPU belongs to AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series which will require a new platform. As per the actual benchmark details, this CPU features 6-cores running at a speed of 4.4 GHz. The CPU may feature more horsepower when it releases, so it is safe to say that the speeds may surpass that of this engineering sample. Adding on to that, @harukaze5719, over on Twitter, compared these benchmarks against the Zen 3-based Ryzen 9 5950X and found the Engineering Sample of the Ryzen 5 7600X to be 10% faster than the current-generation flagship. It is important to note that these benchmarks were taken along with NVIDIA’s workstation graphics card, the RTX A4000, based on the GA-104 GPU from the Ampere architecture. It is expected that AMD’s new Zen 4 CPUs will arrive in August, according to the latest rumors. No official announcement has been made yet, however, Intel is set to host its Innovation Developer Forum in September where we will most likely see the announcement of the 13th Gen Core series, codenamed ‘Raptor Lake’. Coincidentally, September is also when AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPUs were previously rumored to launch.
